We believe in a house with a soul. In a place that doesn't shout, but settles into you. Josefina is more than a hotel. Josefina is an adults-only boutique hotel — we welcome guests aged 16 and over. It is the continuation of a family story and a tribute to the land we belong to.

Breakfast at Josefina
For us, the day begins with the aroma of freshly baked sourdough bread made from locally milled flour. On the table, you’ll find house-made yoghurts and local dairy products, seasonal fruit from nearby orchards, and croissants with plum marmalade made to Grandma Marija’s old recipe, all served on Chefinja ceramics.

Four generations of hospitality
Our family has practised hospitality in Rodik since 1903. What lives today as Josefina grew out of decades of connection — between the house and its people, the guest and the table, the place and the feeling that true hospitality is never just a service. It is always a relationship.
Josefina was born as a tribute to that heritage and as its contemporary continuation. In the restored house we created six unique rooms for adult guests who value calm, intimacy, refined materiality and the character of a space.
In building Josefina we followed the same conviction that guides us at Gostilna Mahorčič: that real quality is inseparable from place. Our world is built on respect for the local environment, natural materials, craft, and the seasons.
