Our day begins with the scent of freshly baked sourdough from locally milled flour. The table is laid with home-made yoghurt and local dairy, seasonal fruit from the surrounding orchards, and croissants with plum jam made to Grandma Marija's old recipe.
Breakfast is enriched with selected cured meats from the finest producers of the Karst, Brkini and Slovenian Istria, house-made jams and juices, and eggs from the neighbour's hens, prepared to your taste — an introduction to a day we shape with the same care as everything else.

Since 1903
Four generations of hospitality
Our family has practised hospitality in Rodik since 1903. What lives today as Josefina grew out of decades of connection — between the house and its people, the guest and the table, the place and the feeling that true hospitality is never just a service. It is always a relationship.
Josefina was born as a tribute to that heritage and as its contemporary continuation. In the restored house we created six unique rooms for adult guests who value calm, intimacy, refined materiality and the character of a space.
In building Josefina we followed the same conviction that guides us at Gostilna Mahorčič: that real quality is inseparable from place. Our world is built on respect for the local environment, natural materials, craft, and the seasons.
